OSF PromptCare: Fort Jesse in Normal, Illinois

OSF Ft. Jesse Prompt Care is not an emergency room. They do not harness the capabilities to treat or diagnose medical issues outside the basic realms of a doc in the box. The staff at OSF Ft. Jesse Prompt Care are NOT primary care physicians or nurse practitioners. They are a TEMPORARY medical professional to administer medical treatment for issues such as cold, cough, flu, stitches depending on severity, broken bone depending on severity/day it happened. Whatever medical treatment you are provided, you will not follow-up with them regarding the issue. They are not specialists, and most of the time they are not physicians, they are nurse practitioners. I have an immense level of respect for nurses, but I do not believe they should have the same privileges as a licensed medical doctor. Especially when a majority of the nurse practitioners used at the OSF Prompt Care facilities are fresh out of school. I can further elaborate on this issue more, but common sense tells you that this is not an emergency room, and their own corporate policies/procedures define as much. Off the subject, if you take a look at the review history over the last 12 months you will see that a majority are negative reviews which describe similar instances of lack luster care, poor attitudes, violations of corporate policies/procedures and patients rights laws. But if you look at each time a negative review is left, a positive one is posted near immediately after within the same time frame as the negative. This is also done with just leaving star reviews, which many of the profiles that are leaving 5 star reviews are buffer profiles used to oppose negative reviews. I have been monitoring this for the past 8 months, and can show clearly that they are offsetting negative reviews. They are a temporary solution to a minor medical treatment, they should not be used for anything more and if they try, be sure to stipulate such.
