(WTVO/WQRF)–The IHSA State Football Finals are returning to where they all began, Hancock Stadium on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal. Wednesday the IHSA announced that the games will be held there the next five years from 2023-2027. Hancock Stadium hosted the first State Finals in 1974 and continued to host them through 1998 in the smaller divisions. The larger divisions split off and where held at Northwestern's Dyche Stadium in 1985-1998.
